Sherrill Occasional adds to Voyage Maison collection

HIGH POINT — At the October High Point Market, Sherrill Occasional is expanding upon its Voyage Maison collection that launched last October.

The company is adding 50 new pieces to the collection, which are in addition to the first 50 it launched in the original lineup. The expanded line includes several new domestic groups made in the company’s Hickory, North Carolina manufacturing facilities.

The new pieces were inspired by natural elements and feature varying types of organic shapes and textures. The line also continues to have a mixed media story, with materials such as mother of pearl, smooth and textural concrete and honed stone to name a few.

“This season’s introductions are inspired by the environment all around us,” said Cindy Hall, vice president, case goods merchandising. “The beauty of nature can be seen in the organic shapes and natural materials, such as the use of mother of pearl and concrete. Expanding the breadth of our successful Voyage Maison collection, these inspired designs not only have a unique look, but also utilize an eclectic mix of textures. The mix of materials used to form this exciting, trend-setting presentation include reverse-painted
glass, concrete, artisanal hand painting, and laser-cut steel.”

Some of among the new pieces being shown are:

+ The Sapphire cabinet, whose design was inspired by an electric guitar. + The Art Retreat two-door cabinet, which features hand-painted doors in silver leaf and tapered legs with metal ferrules. It also has touch-latch doors, a removable and adjustable inside shelf and wire management on the back.

The Orion two-door cabinet

+ The Haydon two-door cabinet, which is shown in a Navy Blue finish and features gold reeded doors and a crossbar metal base. It also has long gold pulls on the door fronts and a removable and adjustable inside shelf and wire management on the back.

+The Orion two-door cabinet shown in a Plaster White finish features geometric shapes and mixed materials such as circular resin door panels. It also has an alternating gold hand-wiped texture on the doors and features one removable and adjustable inside shelf and wire management on the back of the cabinet.

+ The Maeve two-door cabinet has a Crisp White finish with silver pressed vein leaves on the front of the doors. It sits on tapered legs and has a touch-latch door and one removable and adjustable inside shelf as well as wire management on the back of the piece.

+ The Blissful drum table has a hand-laid black and white mother of pearl and starburst motif on top and varying vertical lines around the base. The company said the size and scale of the piece make it ideal as an accent table.
