Havertys enters agreement to purchase Lakeland, Florida, distribution center for $28.2 million

LAKELAND, Fla. — Retailer Haverty Furniture has entered an agreement to purchase a distribution facility here for $28.2 million.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said the purchase price excludes costs and taxes. The filing also said that the retailer previously owned the facility at 7100 Havertys Way before selling it back to the landlord, HF Lakeland, FL Landlord LLC, as part of sale leaseback transaction in May 2020.

It expects to close on the 339,000-square-foot property on or before May 15. As part of the closing, Havertys and the landlord will terminate the lease agreement dated May 19, 2020.
