Napa Furniture Design hires Dean Banks as VP operations

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. — Industry veteran Dean Banks has joined Napa Furniture Design, a manufacturer of solid wood bedroom, dining and occasional furniture, in the newly created position of vice president, operations.

Dean Banks

Banks comes to the company from case goods and upholstery resource Emerald Home Furnishings, where he worked as general manager for the past three and a half years. Before that, he was vice president, sales, marketing and merchandising at solid wood case goods resource A-America for more than 13 years.

In his new post, Banks will oversee the company’s import operations and sourcing from a dedicated case goods plant in Indonesia. In addition, Banks will be involved in other areas of the business including product development.

He reports to Kevin O’Keefe, president.

“I have known Dean for a while and know he does just a great job,” O’Keefe told Home News Now. “We  are very excited and very lucky to get him. … We are looking forward to having him on board.”

The hire also falls on the heels of the company’s opening of a West Coast warehouse this past fall, which is serving customers in the western half of the U.S.

Napa’s product line is produced from plantation grown, sustainable hardwoods grown in Indonesia. Made in a single source factory also in Indonesia, the line includes traditional to contemporary collections that are finished in a 17-step process the company said includes hand-applied oils “to maximize quality and uniqueness in each piece.”
