‘Cocktails & More’ program offers retailers & designers domestic resource for custom occasional tables
BEDFORD, Va. – Domestic upholstery producer Sam Moore, a division of Hooker Furniture, is entering the occasional table category this week at High Point Market. The Cocktails & More program offers custom finishing, upholstery and nail head trim options on eight upholstered cocktail tables, each of which include cocktail trays and casters. The highly customizable program offers retailers and designers a domestic resource for custom occasional options, a unique benefit, especially for the occasional category, which has largely shifted to imports with limited custom options.
Priced to retail from $1,200 to $1,499, the exposed, beech wood frames are manufactured in North Carolina and hand-finished and upholstered in Bedford, Virginia, by Sam Moore’s dedicated employees.
“The program brings what Sam Moore truly does best – great design, intricate, multi-step hand finishes and on-trend fabric offerings – to the occasional furniture category,” said Sandi Teague, vice president of sales and merchandising at Sam Moore. “Utilizing our custom finishing and upholstery capabilities — which include more than 20 finish options and 650 fabrics — the program offers our partners a 100 percent made in the USA resource with a six- to eight-week lead time, a competitive advantage over imported products that typically carry longer lead times and offer minimal customization.”
Available in round, square, oval or rectangle, the upholstered cocktail ottomans are available standard in a choice of more than 650 fabric options, tufted or non-tufted, eight finishes and feature complementary solid wood serving trays for use in entertaining. Each style is standard with hidden, locking casters for easy movement. The collection also features an additional 15 Premier finishes hand applied by Sam Moore artisans, contrasting welt and choice of two sizes of nail-heads available in four different finishes for further customization.
The solid wood trays are crafted to nest on the cocktail ottomans’ bottom shelf for storage when not in use. Strategically placed wooden positioning pins on the bottom shelf lock the trays in place when not in use.
All cocktail tray ottomans are carefully wrapped and packaged in cartons for protective shipping.
The program will be on display in Sam Moore’s High Point showroom, located in space C-1058 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
Sam Moore Furniture is a leader in crafting quality, custom upholstery. In 1940, a young Sam Moore and four of his friends bought the Delaware Chair Co. in Delaware, Ohio. A tough economy and a looming war forced Sam to relocate. The company moved south to Christiansburg, Virginia, in 1943 and to its current home in Bedford, Virginia in 1960. Through the years, the company expanded to a 300,000-square-foot facility that is a balanced blend of state-of-the-art technology and hand craftsmanship. In 2007, Sam Moore was acquired by Martinsville, Virginia-based Hooker Furniture, one of the world’s largest and most respected furniture companies, founded more than 90 years ago in 1924. Like Sam Moore, Hooker is known for quality furnishings of exceptional value. For more information, please visit sammoore.com.
