GREENSBORO, North Carolina — Banner House, who recently built upon its successful Magnussen Home brand by acquiring Pulaski Furniture, Kincaid Furniture and American Drew, has appointed Maureen Elrod, as chief financial officer, to support its rapid growth.
Elrod brings more than 15 years of financial leadership experience with global consumer fashion brands to the company.

Prior to joining Banner House, Elrod was the chief financial officer of Kayser-Roth Corporation, a leading legwear and apparel importer in Greensboro, North Carolina where she was part of an executive leadership transition to rebrand and turnaround the legacy business. Before that, she held various senior financial positions at Hanesbrands Inc., including the role of vice president of financial planning and analysis for the publicly traded global apparel brand. She started her career in accounting with roles at KPMG in Charlotte, North Carolina and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Washington, D.C.
“This has been quite a year for Banner House and as we continue our evolution, bringing on someone with Maureen’s experience as CFO further elevates our operations,” said Banner House Chief Executive Officer Nathan Cressman. “Maureen’s held a number of key senior finance leadership roles, notably with companies in moments of growth and through acquisition, which aligns perfectly with where we are headed across our portfolio of furniture brands.”
“This is a time of significant growth and momentum at Banner House. While all of the storied brands have been around for a significant amount of time, Nathan and Doug (Townsend, the company’s president) are approaching the business from the perspective of a start-up.
Their strategy is very well thought-out, and I look forward to implementing their vision, effectively integrating the brands and streamlining all of the functions. Figuring out how to get us there faster is very exciting to me and it’s the kind of opportunity you don’t often see in finance,” Elrod said.
She received both her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree in accounting from Wake Forest University. She resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with her family.
Elrod replaces long-time Magnussen Home CFO Kent MacFarlane who has retired.
