American Leather promotes Carrie Cox to VP of merchandising, brand experience

AUSTIN — Carrie Cox recently has been promoted to vice president of merchandising and brand experience at upholstery manufacturer American Leather.

With industry experience dating back more than 20 years, she has been with the company for just over a year and a half, previously as director of brand experience.

Before joining American Leather in July 2023, she was director of showroom design and operations at case goods resource Riverside Furniture and before that was director of creative design at Klaussner Furniture.

She was also previously director of visual merchandising and director of showrooms at Heritage Home Group for just over four and a half years. As director of showrooms, she oversaw design and introduction of new product and implementation for showrooms of the company’s brands including Lane, Broyhill, Thomasville, Henredon, Drexel Heritage, Hickory Chair, Pearson, Lane Venture, LaBarge and Maitland-Smith.

Before this, she was with company predecessor Furniture Brands International for just over seven years, serving as wholesale and retail interior designer. In this position, she oversaw design direction and the introduction of new product for Thomasville, Lane and Broyhill wholesale furniture showrooms and retail furniture galleries.

Her furniture industry experience also includes roles as showroom designer and sales associate at Midway Furniture and retail designer at Ashley Furniture.
