CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Industry veteran David Horvath has been hired as category manager for the furniture segment at Queen City Audio, Video & Appliances. In this new position, he will oversee the launch of the retailer’s new furniture division.
He comes to the company from W.S. Badcock Corp., where he was category manager for about six and a half years. Before that, he was an independent sales representative and before that was a vice president of merchandising for the home segment at HHGregg.
Previously he was a senior buyer for Haynes Furniture Co. and before this was vice president of merchandising for accent and furniture resource Powell Co.
Earlier in his career, he was a senior buyer for American Signature and a buyer for Art Van Furniture, where he also was involved in marketing, case goods merchandising, inventory management and product development.
In the new role, he reports to executive vice president Ben Willis and owner Roddey Player.
Queen City Audio, Video and Appliances has seven store locations in and around Charlotte, as well as a warehouse and customer pick-up location also in Charlotte.
