DUBUQUE, Iowa – Upholstery and case goods resource Flexsteel Inds. has named Alejandro Huerta as chief financial officer, treasurer and secretary, effective June 1.
He will occupy a role currently held by Derek P. Schmidt, who will expand his responsibilities as chief operating officer.
Huerta comes to the company from Tucker Powersports, where he has served as chief financial officer for the past three years. In this role, Flexsteel said, he had executive responsibility for finance, accounting, information technology and risk management, and led the turnaround of the business through cost reduction, automation, and financial integration projects. In addition, he led global bottom and top-line initiatives including footprint rationalization and global business strategy implementation.
For just over two years before that he was a senior CFO Consultant for AH Financial Operations Consulting, and for 11 years before that, he worked at Jarden Home Brands in a variety of roles, most recently as president, finance. Earlier in his career he was a financial analyst at Raytheon.
