Steve Silver enters outdoor category

Steve Silver Co. will debut a new outdoor collection at Las Vegas Market that includes a full complement of dining, upholstery, and occasional—with shipment slated for late February.

Steve Silver Outdoor is the first introduction in the category for the company, and it will display eight styles at Vegas market, including one dining collection, five upholstery collections, and two occasional groups.

“It’s been something we’ve talked about for years but we didn’t pull the trigger on it for a number of reasons, but now feels like a good time, especially because our customers are looking for a domestic warehouse to pull outdoor product out of, ” says Stever Silver President Luke Silver. “We have our sourcing team in place in China, where a lot of the goods are made, and so adding outdoor was just kind of business as usual for them.”

For the Vegas market, Silver says the company wanted to keep it simple in terms of introductions due to supply chain issues. “We’re not releasing a huge collection, just some value-oriented product,” he explains. “We want to have a good value-based lineup that we can keep in stock.”

Accents pieces will start at $199 out of the warehouse, which Silver says is about a $399 retail, and the outdoor sectional set—on the top end—is $1,649 out of the warehouse, making it about a $3,299 retail.

Products in the collection are made of powder-coated aluminum frames, HDPE resin wicker, and 100% solution-dyed acrylics, and they use an open-cell foam technology that allows for faster cushion drying with antimicrobial properties that prevent mold and mildew.

“We’re looking forward to hopefully getting good feedback from our customers and seeing the results that we expect, ” he says. “We have a passion to develop and getting into a new category is always a new and fun challenge.”

The new line will be shown in the Steve Silver showroom, space B-1080 at the World Market Center.
