She also will broaden the company’s existing efforts to reach younger audience members who increasingly rely on a wide mix of social media platforms for home furnishings news plus content that highlights industry trends and style direction.

“I am excited to join News Now Media Group as social media manager and lead the development of a social-first strategy across its publications,” she said. “My focus is to expand the reach of our publications, bring greater visibility to the people and companies shaping the furniture and design industries, and create content that keeps readers informed, connected and coming back for more. I believe there is a tremendous opportunity to make News Now Media the leading social voice for industry news, trends and insights by transforming great journalism into engaging content that reaches audiences wherever they spend their time online.”

She previously has worked in various marketing  and public relations and business development roles since graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in public relations and advertising in May 2023.

“Julia’s experience in building audiences and social media strategies in multiple industry verticals is exactly what our media group needs to build broader engagement,” said Rick Harrison, president of News Now Media Group. “We already have the best content in home furnishings. Now we can build on that foundation to expand our reach in ways that make our content more accessible to our audience and more valuable to our advertising partners. I fought social media for as long as possible, but have had to begrudgingly accept that it won’t just go away. So now I’m excited to see where Julia takes us.”
