All sold on Amazon, they pose a tip-over and entrapment risk that can harm children
WASHINGTON — During the month of October, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced three recalls of just over 45,000 clothing storage units that pose an entrapment and tip-over hazard.
In each of the individual recalls, there were no incidents or injuries reported. However, the agency said these units are unstable if not anchored to the wall, which can result in tip-over incidents that can injure or kill children.
The CPSC also said that the units violate the mandatory safety requirements of the STURDY (Stop Tip-Overs of Risky Dressers on Youth) Act.
The largest of the three recalls involves 32,791 Jocoevol six-drawer dressers made in both China and Vietnam and sold on Amazon.com from December 2024 through July 2026 for about $160.

They come in black, pink, brown and white finishes, have six drawers and are made from engineered wood. They also are 47.2 inches wide, 15.3 inches long and 32.3 inches tall and weigh 97 pounds and have the model number “C-0633” printed on a label inside the top left drawer.
The CPSC has advised consumers to stop using the units immediately if they are not anchored to the wall and place them in an area that children cannot access. Consumers also can obtain a full refund by writing “RECALLED” in permanent marker on the dresser and sending a photo of the marked dresser to Jocoevoldresserrecall@outlook.com. They then should dispose of the recalled product.

The second recall involves 12,078 Romorgniz six-drawer chests that were made in China and sold on Amazon.com from May 2025 through August 2026 for between $100 and $170.
The CPSC said these were sold in white and black finishes and measure about 27.6 inches wide, 15.6 inches long and 43.2 inches tall and weigh 73.3 pounds.
Consumers also have been advised to stop using the recalled units immediately if they are not anchored to the wall and place them in an area that children cannot access. To receive a full refund, they must write in permanent market the word “RECALLED” on the top, front and sides of the unit, remove all drawers and send a photo of the marked and disassembled chest to Romorgnizrecall@outlook.com. Consumers also have been advised to dispose of the product.
The third recall involves 138 Soowery eight-drawer fabric dressers that were made in China and sold on Amazon.com from December 2025 through August 2026 for about $106.

The CPSC said the recalled units come in gray and black and have eight fabric drawers and frames that are made of metal. They measure 47.2 inches wide, 11.8 inches long and 35.4 inches tall and weigh 47.5 pounds. The SKU “SOO-8DD-G01” can be found on the product packaging.
Consumers have been advised to stop using the recalled units immediately if they are not anchored to the wall and place them in an area that children cannot access. To receive a full refund, they are being asked to write the word “RECALLED” on the top, front and sides of the unit, remove all drawers and send a photo of the marked and disassembled chest to SOOWERYrecall@outlook.com. Consumers also should then dispose of the product.
The recalls let the industry know of the dangers of units that do not meet the requirements of the STURDY Act and also the importance for consumers to anchor these units to the wall. Retailers can and should promote units that meet the federal safety requirement along with how consumers can take further safety measures by anchoring the units to the wall and thus potentially preventing a tragedy in their own homes.
