HIGH POINT — During the upcoming October High Point Market, the North American division of upholstery manufacturer DeRucci is introducing a line of AI-powered smart mattresses through its recently launched DeRucci Healthy Sleep Company Ltd.
The company is introducing five models that include its premium T12 model, featuring its proprietary Dream OS operating system that learns from and improves individual sleep patterns to offer a better sleep experience.

As immersive technology has brought innovation and functionality, along with higher tickets and margins to the upholstery segment, the company believes this development can bring similar success to the bedding industry.
“We are excited to bring this proven mattress technology to the United States through strategically aligned retail partners,” said William Guy Ray, chief executive officer of DeRucci North America. “These AI functions add real features and benefits that offer something exciting to sell and a larger ticket in a market needing something new.”
With a 5,300-store global footprint that includes an estimated 4,000 stores in China, the China-based company said it has a 45% market share of China’s premium mattress market, generating annual sales of $850 million in the category. By launching new and innovative models developed specifically for the U.S. market, it seeks to become a bigger and even more important bedding resource.
The line provides features such as adaptive support for the body, massage functionality, warming features and adjustable bases that can be positioned to provide additional comfort.
As a flagship model in the lineup, the T12 has what the company describes as an intelligent comfort system that reads the individual’s sleep patterns, adjusting throughout the night to provide support and comfort.
“The T12 learns how each person sleeps and refines its response across two independently controlled zones, with seven adaptive support points that respond to body pressure and sleep position, keeping the sleeper in constant spinal alignment,” the company said adding, “Warming features at the legs help promote circulation.”
The company said that the mattress also shares sleep data through an app, “giving sleepers a clear picture of their sleep patterns and overall health.”
“We believe the T12 represents a new category in sleep,” Ray said, noting that final pricing in this upper to premium mattress segment will be available in the next week or so. “By combining intelligent technology, continuous spinal support and a truly innovative sleep system, we’ve created a mattress that actively responds to the sleeper rather than simply supporting them. Most importantly, we’re pricing this technology to challenge the way the premium mattress industry thinks about value.”
The mattresses are made in and ship directly from the company’s production facilities in Indonesia, which the company said gives retailers the benefit of lower tariffs compared with other parts of Asia. They also will be available from the company’s High Point, North Carolina warehouse.
At market the line can be seen in the company’s showroom at 300 E. Green St. at the corner of Green and Hamilton.
