Industry veteran has recently been named executive vice president for new upholstery resource
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — In his new role as executive vice president for upholstery resource One Crown, industry veteran Mac Davis seeks to position the company as a solution that meets the needs of large and smaller retailers alike not only with product, but also service after the sale.

Davis has more than 30 years industry experience, including 18 and a half years as a territory sales manager for Franklin Corp., five and a half years as a territory rep for Lane Home Furnishings and more recently as a sales rep for Southern Motion.
He also has experience as vice president of sales for retail development at furniture repair and restoration specialist AHM Furniture Service in Houston.
Reporting to company President and CEO Jay Peters, Davis said that the service side of the business will be an extremely valuable asset to dealers moving forward.
“One of the major things I get from dealers I have shown the product to is ‘This is great, but how are you going to be able to take care of my problems? How are you going to be able to supply us with parts and things like that?’”
In response, he said, the company will have a resource in Mississippi that will supply most of the parts that it is using in its line which includes a mix of motion and stationary upholstery, along with some occasional tables.
“We want to make sure the dealers know that we are not just going to sell you something,” he said. “We are going to service it as well.”
With experience in both the service and sales areas of the business, Davis said he is looking forward to this latest chapter in his industry career. Of late, he has been putting together a sales force to cover most areas of the country including the South, the Midwest and the Southwest. Eventually, the company also will serve the West Coast, but for now is focusing on these other regions.
Made in Vietnam, the product it is debuting at its new High Point showroom at 411 Manning St. will be available container direct, while some of the mix also will be available from its Houston-area warehouse.
“We want to be able to offer dealers the best of both worlds,” he said, noting that dealers can order in smaller or larger quantities. “We can deliver from a warehouse or they can order a container.”
“When I pitch this to dealers, that resonates with them,” he added, noting that smaller dealers can order what they need in less than full truckloads.
He believes that the product mix, along with the company’s customer/service-centric approach will be well received with customers now and in the future.
“We’re building something that is truly different,” he said. “One Crown is bringing fresh styling, innovative branding and renewed excitement back to the motion furniture category while helping retailers stand out and drive sales.”
