Sauder Woodworking names Nolan Pike president and CEO

Pike succeeds longtime executive Kevin Sauder, who has been in the role since 2001

Ready-to-assemble furniture manufacturer Sauder Woodworking Co. has named Nolan Pike as its president and chief executive officer, effective Oct. 21. In this role, he succeeds longtime executive Kevin Sauder, who is retiring effective Nov. 1 after more than 36 years of service to the company.

Nolan comes to Sauder Woodworking with more than 35 years of management experience, having served in various leadership roles at General Electric, Sears and Electrolux.

He was most recently president and chief executive officer of Electrolux North America and in this position oversaw a division which included brands such as Electrolux and Frigidaire. He worked at the company for nearly 10 years, also holding roles such as senior vice president, North American product lines and senior vice president, North American cooking, fabric care and dish care.

Before this, he worked at Sears Holdings, serving as vice president, general manager at Kenmore, and vice president and division vice president, home appliances. Prior to this, he worked at General Electric, as general manager for The Home Depot, Sears and Monogram accounts.

“He successfully led transformations from loss to profitability and provided strategic marketing and sales leadership for brands that are household names,” Sauder Woodworking said in a statement.  

“We are confident that under Nolan’s leadership, our company will continue to serve our customers, employees, and communities, and achieve new heights,” stated Debbie Sauder David, chair of Sauder’s board of directors. “After 90 years of growth and success with Sauder family leadership, our company will continue to be in very capable hands.”

Nolan holds an MBA from Lehigh University and a BBA in Management from the University of Texas-San Antonio.

“Nolan brings experience and expertise that will greatly benefit our company and take it to the next level,” said Kevin Sauder, Sauder’s President/CEO since 2001. “And I am pleased that Nolan shares a commitment to the Sauder values.”

Kevin Sauder said he also looks forward to working with Nolan on a successful transition. The company said that together they will attend the October High Point Market, meeting with key customers, sales reps, industry partners, and trade press.

Kevin plans to retire Nov. 1 “after 36 years of dedicated service to Sauder Woodworking Co. He looks forward to spending more time with family, traveling and taking on new adventures.”
