An inside look into Week 2 of Consumer Insights Now — The Living Room

In this video interview, Home News Now Editor-in-Chief Tom Russell speaks with HNN research expert Dana French about the second CIN report published Monday Sept. 30. Offering an in-depth look into the living room, French explains key findings relating to the segment, which identifies upholstery as a top spending priority for consumers of all ages. In addition to the types of upholstery that consumers are looking to purchase, French explains how this breaks down by age and income level along with preferences for fabric and leather.

Also key among the findings is how much people are looking to spend on sofas, sectionals and other seating and how they plan to finance their purchases. Perhaps most importantly, their discussion also touches on where people plan to buy their living room furniture. Hint: The responses are good news for brick and mortar retailers, where consumers can sit on and feel the comfort level of that sofa or sectional they are planning to purchase.
