by HIGH POINT — The International Textile Alliance has named Tammy Covington Nagem and Tom Notaro to its board of directors.
Nagem is president and chief executive officer of the High Point Market Authority, and Notaro is senior sales director of furnishings at Glen Raven/Material Solutions Group.
They are filling seats on the board that have recently been vacated by Patrick Shelton, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Valdese Weavers, and Kathryn Richardson, vice president of sales and strategic engagement with Verellen.
Nagem is serving as an industry liaison in the seat previously held by Richardson, who had been on the board since 2013 including two as president and the past year as industry liaison. Notaro fills the seat held by Shelton, who had been on the board since 2020.
Their terms began on Sept. 1 with Nagem serving an initial term of two years and Notaro serving for four years, representing the length of terms for industry liaison and members, respectively. Notaro also is serving on the board’s membership committee.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Tammy for many years, and I’m excited about the valuable industry knowledge and trade show experience she brings to the board,” ITA Managing Director Carrie Dillon told Home News Now, adding, “Tom’s excellent reputation and significant contributions to the industry make him an equally valuable addition. I look forward to partnering with both of them on initiatives that will benefit our members and the industry we serve.”
