Report: Sam Levitz Furniture in process of closing stores

TUCSON, Ariz. — Retailer Sam Levitz Furniture is in the process of closing stores according to news reports from local media in the Tucson market.

Local news station KGUN 9 reported that the company has closed one location in Oro Valley and is planning to close two locations in Tucson by mid to late September.

The station also reported that its store on Orange Grove Road will be its only remaining location.

According to its website, the company is holding a summer clearance sale with major markdowns offered in all categories including bedroom, dining, youth bedroom, living room, office and bedding to name several core segments. The sale includes floor samples, scratch and dent merchandise and limited stock items.

The retailer, which traces its history back to 1910 when it was called Levitz Furniture, ranked at No. 90 on Home News Now’s 2023 list of 125 Furniture & Bedding Retailers with estimated sales of just over $99 million.
