Exec will help drive top-line sales and improve communications with customers and reps
HIGH POINT — Case goods and upholstery resource Legacy Classic | Modern has hired industry veteran Roland Maddrey as vice president of sales.
He fills a position previously held by Scott Sullens, who recently has been named vice president of key accounts at case goods and upholstery resource Intercon Furniture.
Maddrey has nearly 40 years of industry experience. He comes to the company from Digio Leather Sofas where he was vice president of sales. Before that, he was vice president of sales at Casa Ispirata and Cavaletto Home. He also was previously key account manager at Sunpan and vice president of sales at A.R.T. Furniture.
Earlier in his career, he held executive sales positions at Samuel Lawrence Furniture and Universal Furniture.
In his new position, he reports to Chris Pelcher, president. He will be responsible for driving top-line sales and improved communications with Legacy’s customers and sales team.
“We are truly excited to have Roland join the Legacy family as vice president of sales for the Eastern region,” Pelcher said. “Roland comes to us with decades of furniture experience with some of the most highly regarded companies in the industry. I’ve known Roland for nearly 15 years and bought from him for many of those, so I can vouch for his knowledge and professionalism.”
“Roland is an extremely talented executive and will work well with our customer base,” Pelcher added. “I also feel strongly that Roland fits into Legacy’s culture and will be a true team player.”
Maddrey said he looks forward to being part of the Legacy Classic team and returning to the company, which is a sister company to Universal, part of Hong Kong-based Samson Holding.
“I feel my experience and knowledge of the furniture industry line up perfectly with Legacy’s mission of constantly striving for operational excellence,” he said. “There are so many exciting initiatives going on at Legacy right now and I can’t wait to jump in.”
