HICKORY, N.C. — Hooker Furnishings has named Curtis Bolick vice president of sales and merchandising, a new position.

In this role, he will lead the merchandising efforts for the company’s Bradington-Young brand and also will be responsible for driving sales for two of its domestic upholstery divisions, including Bradington-Young and HF Custom, alongside Matt Cowan, executive vice president of sales, Hooker Legacy Brands.

Curtis Bolick

Bolick began his career in the industry at Bradington-Young and is returning to the company 23 years later from global leather resource JBS Couros.

In his first job at Bradington-Young, he was a sales and marketing manager and then was promoted to national sales manager.

Then for about five years he worked at HDM Furniture, a division of Furniture Brands International, where he was director of leather sourcing and merchandising and brand manager for Drexel-Heritage. He also was president and chief executive officer of Olivia + Quinn, a boutique leather upholstery resource in Hickory.

He also held several leadership positions with leading industry suppliers including Leather Miracles, where he was vice president of sales and product development. At JBS Couros, he was most recently U.S. senior sales manager.

He reports to Craig Young, president of Bradington-Young and HF Custom.

“We are thrilled to welcome Curtis back to the Hooker Furnishings team,” Young said. “In looking to fill this role, we were looking for a candidate with a sales-centric focus along with proven success in product development and creating new business opportunities. Curtis checked all these boxes, and we are confident that his addition to the team will allow us to continue our positive momentum with these brands.”
