by Organizers host 225 children for an afternoon of fun at Phoenix International Raceway
AVONDALE, Ariz. – Mattress manufacturer King Koil is revving up to host “Drive to Thrive,” at the iconic Phoenix International Raceway, a special afternoon of fun for the more than 225 children who participate in the afterschool programs of the Boys and Girls Club of the West Valley (Phoenix).
Set for Tuesday, May 16th, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Drive to Thrive has been designed to provide a thrilling afternoon on the mile-long track more typically used during the NASCAR circuit races. As part of the fun, children will enjoy pace car rides on the track, test out race car simulators and even attempt to set Guinness World Records in a series of team races for the boys and girls who will vie for titles by age category using Hula Hoops, pogo sticks, socks and Starburst candies. Along with lots of heart-pounding excitement King Koil will serve up plenty of food, prizes and gifts for the attendees, world records or not.
King Koil has long supported charitable organizations that benefit children, often in conjunction with major annual bedding industry events.
“I believe we all have a responsibility to give back, both as individuals and as corporate citizens. I love doing things for kids and am always so honored to host events for the Boys & Girls Clubs and provide the children in their after-school programs with truly unforgettable experiences,” said David Binke, chief executive officer of King Koil.
Last year, King Koil hosted 125 children for a day at Epcot that also benefited a Boys & Girls Club, this time in South Florida.

Holding the event at a venue in Phoenix means we were able to double the size of the event and entertain twice the number of children as we have in previous years because we have more King Koil team members on hand to help orchestrate the fun.
