by GOSHEN, Ind. — Fusion Designs, a leader in solid wood, domestically produced case goods, is expanding on its popular Essentials quick ship division with Essentials Plus, a value-driven program designed to give retailers a new starting point for bench-built, American-made furniture.
The company will show the first Essentials Plus product at the Spring High Point Market (Radio Building Floor 4), launching the new initiative with two, solid wood dining collections.
The new Essentials Plus groups will include the 42-inch round Rebecca Table with four Harper Chairs, shown in brown maple wood, and the Harmony Leg Table with six Harlow Chairs, a seven-piece set also in Brown Maple wood. Both include one 16-inch leaf and ball-bearing slides.
The suggested retail price for a solid wood Essentials Plus dining table and four chairs, that can be customized in a choice of 35 hand-wiped finishes and shipped to retailers in just 10 days, starts at $2,495.
“Our goal with Essentials Plus is to answer the growing call to make quality, solid wood furniture handmade in America accessible to more consumers than ever before,” said Marcus Bontrager, president of Fusions Design. “Essentials Plus is an exciting new addition that offers the same bench-built quality furniture in a choice of custom finishes with fast delivery that has made our Essentials series so successful, coupled with even greater values.”
According to Bontrager, Essentials Plus has been created to help traditional furniture dealers attract consumers to their stores who may yearn for quality, American-made, solid wood furniture that can be customized to suit their personal style, who have previously felt priced out of the category. –
“Essentials Plus is our bid to offer consumers—whether they are decorating their first home or downsizing a space later in life—an affordable alternative that will stand the test of time,” he said. “We believe too many inexpensive imports are piling up in landfills, which is not sustainable for the environment or the American economy. Essential Plus program products have larger production runs on a limited number of special products that are stocked in white-wood and ready to finish.
At the same time, the company will continue to serve special order customers with all Fusion options. “Make no mistake,” Bontrager said, “dealers who look to Fusion Designs for special-order capabilities, who wish to change a wood species or customize the size of a product, can continue to do so, even in Essentials or the Essentials Plus programs, just as they always have on our six- to eight-week delivery schedule.”
