by PHOENIX, Ariz. — Case goods manufacturer Legends Furniture has eliminated its ocean freight surcharge on all imported products effective Oct. 15.
The company said that this surcharge has been about $2.90 per cube and that it has had a surcharge in place for about two years.
It has eliminated this in response to significant reductions in ocean freight in recent months.
“We decided it was time to drop the surcharge even though we will need to absorb the difference until we sell through our older inventory,” said Tim Donk, vice president, sales. “Legends is always about putting their customer first in every company decision, and this is the right thing to do at the right time.”
