Hooker Furniture introduces 2 new collections at High Point Market

MARTINSVILLE, Va., October 2022 – Hooker Furniture is introducing two major collections later this month at the High Point Market: “Charleston” and “Nouveau Chic.”

The Charleston Collection showcases over 90 pieces representing bedroom, dining room, home office, accents and occasional.
Charleston embraces design inspiration from the West Indies and the Traditional South, harmonizing them into a singular voice. West Indies pays tribute to the tropical craftsmanship using botanical carving and woven cane, accenting classic British and Dutch Colonial forms.

The Traditional South represents the sophisticated beauty of marquetry detail like string inlays, hand skiving, and reeded and fluted elements. The two personalities combine to create a diverse persona uniquely curating environments with ease.

Cherry veneers contrast beautifully with a black cherry finish, adding to the heirloom nature of the collection. Look for vibrant colors like canary yellow, waterscape blue, white heron, Gullah green and yellow ochre. Hardware throughout the collection is custom
designed in an eclectic manner, in concert with the idea of fine antiquities and treasures from the past.

“This collection is inspired by the rich history, culture and charm of the Southeastern region developed from people all over the world who chose to settle there,” said Mike Harris, president of Hooker case goods and upholstery. “Charleston speaks to the traditionalists and a new generation of consumers redefining what that term means, so we created pieces that we feel offer a fresh take on classic forms, finishes and materials. We even went so far as to create an antique store within the presentation reminiscent of the experience one has
perusing the streets of Charleston.”

Also being released this market, the Nouveau Chic Collection is a 36-piece casual modern group drawing inspiration from the curvaceous yet uncomplicated designs that are popular today. Nouveau Chic unites classic architectural elements like cathedral and quartered oak, movement of soft shapes, metallicized shagreen and polished metal accents to create a dramatic yet easy modern aesthetic.

“The casual modern consumer is looking for calm, versatile pieces to anchor their homes and support their individual design choices,” said Jenni Jungers, executive vice president of merchandising for Hooker Furniture. “Nouveau Chic delivers that, bringing a graceful blend of design, fashion, utility and performance into living spaces throughout the home.”

In addition to the two new collections, Hooker Furniture will also be expanding on its Big Sky collection that it introduced this past April with a line extension called Tahoe. Big Sky: Tahoe encompasses 21 new bedroom, dining room and occasional pieces to complement the line’s already robust offerings. “With the tremendous response to Big Sky last market we felt there was a broader expression of the group’s inspiration, and we are excited to bring out these fresh, new additions,” Harris said.

Hooker Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings, will once again be showing in the Hooker Legacy Brands showroom on the 10th floor of IHFC, Space C1058
