Avocado is currently looking for a Director of People Development to be part of the People & Development team and be responsible for the strategy and implementation of various human resource programs, systems and procedures to aid in the attraction, retention, and motivation of employees in accordance with policies, procedures and government laws and regulations.
The person in this role will counsel, coach and guide the leadership team and staff in addressing concerns and complaints to assure fair and equitable treatment while ensuring compliance with local labor regulations and practices. They will become a trusted partner and consultant for the Vice President of People and Development.
This person will work alongside the People and Development team while providing in-the-moment coaching and feedback on a regular basis and provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of HR Leader Experience.
- Experience in Retail and/or Manufacturing preferred.
- Expert knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures.
- Expert knowledge of employment/labor laws in California.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
