Coaster implements price decrease effective Aug. 27

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. — Full-line furniture, accent and accessories resource Coaster Fine Furniture is implementing a price decrease that takes effect Aug. 27.

The company recently sent a letter to dealers that is rolling back pricing by an average of 10% across its active product line. Some adjustments will be as high as 30% the company said.

This change comes about 14 months after the company announced a price increase last June that was due to a host of factors from rising freight to rising materials costs.

“The good news is that all these annoyances are calming down and we are beginning to see more favorable movement with these challenges,” the company said in its letter, adding that it has not applied any surcharges to its pricing model.

The company said the decrease is not an across-the-board adjustment, but rather one that looks at each SKU independently to determine the best number.

“The value of our product is the most important job we have, and we take it very seriously,” the company wrote. “We look at each SKU in our lineup to make sure that it offers the best retail advantage for our dealer partners.”

The price decrease is among the latest in an industry that is offering more competitive pricing to not only reflect better materials and transportation savings, but also to help give dealers more incentive to buy during a period of still high inventories.
