Made in Mexico product mix has fashion-forward, sustainable focus
Portland, OR., April 2, 2022 – Porter Designs is a globally sourced lifestyle furniture supplier that strives to improve the impact that home furnishings manufacturing and shipping has on the environment. New for this Market is the Good Earth, Furniture with a Conscience Collection of fashion-forward sustainable upholstery covered in high-quality performance fabrics. See the new collection in their High Point Market showroom, Centers of High Point, Hamilton #230, April 2-6, 2022.
“Our Good Earth Collection is made in Mexico from resources that minimize waste and ultimately leads to a healthier ecosystem,” stated Julie Grant, Porter Designs creative director and owner. “In the past to support our solid wood collections we partnered with the Earthworm Foundation initiative to help reduce carbon emissions and decrease global warming by planting 10,000 trees in Haryana, India. Now we are excited to offer a sustainable feature to our upholstery.”
The goal of the Porter Designs’ latest collection is to reduce the environmental footprint and protect our natural resources for future generations. The Good Earth sustainable seating collection achieves this by using recycled fiberboard and foam along with soft and durable performance fabric made from repurposed plastic bottles. They also package it for shipping in recycled materials.
“This initiative will not only help our planet but will also help our customers feel better about their healthy furnishing purchases,” Grant concluded.
The Good Earth Collection’s 10 new groups, which include sectionals, sofas, loveseats, and chairs range in styles from transitional to contemporary and are covered in an array of neutral cream and gray performance fabrics. The sofas, loveseats and sectionals all have coordinating accent pillows to add an extra spark to the room settings.
