FORT MILL, S.C. — Broad River Retail continues its national growth with new Ashley store activity in Maine, North Carolina, and South Carolina, including its first Maine location and an upcoming South Carolina showroom that will become the company’s 40th retail location.
The company recently opened new Ashley locations in South Portland, Maine and Statesville, North Carolina; reintroduced its renovated showroom in Hickory, North Carolina; and announced that work is underway on a new Ashley store in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Broad River Retail celebrated the ribbon-cutting of its Ashley store and outlet in South Portland, Maine, on Aug. 27. The 44,900-square-foot dual-concept showroom at 405 Western Ave. in Jetport Plaza is the company’s first Ashley store in Maine and brings Ashley back to the Greater Portland market for the first time in more than 15 years.
“Bringing Ashley back to Greater Portland in a meaningful way establishes an important flagship store in a brand-new market for Broad River Retail, and the response in South Portland has been incredible,” said Manny Rodrigues, president and chief operating officer of Broad River Retail. “Guests showed up with real excitement during our grand opening weekend, and our Memory Makers did an outstanding job welcoming the community into our first Maine showroom. South Portland gives us a strong foundation in northern New England.”
Broad River Retail soft-opened its newest Ashley store in Statesville, North Carolina on Aug. 28. The 35,000-square-foot showroom at Broad Street Station, near I-77, gives the company another location in the north Charlotte region. Broad River Retail will host a ribbon-cutting celebration at the Statesville Ashley on Nov. 12.
The company also celebrated the grand reopening of its Hickory, North Carolina, Ashley store on Sept. 3. The location originally opened in 2010, and the renovation updates an established showroom in one of Broad River Retail’s long-standing North Carolina markets.
“The Carolinas are home for Broad River Retail, so growth here always carries special meaning for our team,” said Charlie Malouf, chief executive officer of Broad River Retail. “Statesville strengthens our reach in the north Charlotte market, while Hickory represents
a continued investment in a community we have served for more than 15 years. We’re proud to keep building in the places that helped shape Broad River Retail.”
Broad River Retail also recently announced work is underway on its new Ashley store at 1700 Boulevard St. in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The more than 26,000-square-foot showroom is expected to soft open Nov. 20 and will become the company’s 40th retail location and 11th Ashley store in South Carolina.
Located a few miles off of interstate 26 in the southwest corner of the Midlands region near the Orangeburg Mall, the new Ashley store will serve guests throughout Orangeburg County and the surrounding Midlands region and will be serviced by Broad River Retail’s
Fort Mill, S.C. distribution center.
Across the new and renovated locations, Broad River Retail is investing in Ashley’s latest 7.0 store design, which includes prominent vignettes featuring the brand-new, exclusive Ashley Luxe collection, an Ashley Outlet department, as well as dedicated Sleep Shops
featuring leading mattress brands such as Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, Sealy, Purple, Nectar, DreamCloud, and Ashley Sleep.
