by WASHINGTON — The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission announced two more clothing storage unit recalls the last week of July that involve 14,789 units sold on Amazon that the agency says pose a danger to children.
While no injuries or incidents had been reported as of the June 30 reporting date, the agency said the units pose a tip-over and entrapment hazard if not anchored to the wall. Such incidents have been known to injure and in some cases kill children because of the weight and size of the units.
The CPSC said they both also violate the mandatory federal safety standards as required by the STURDY Act.
The larger of the two recalls involves 12,800 EnHomee 15-drawer dressers that were produced by Changzhou Jiaxuan Intelligence Furniture Co., Ltd., of China and sold on Amazon.com from August 2024 through April 2026 for about $140. The recall only pertains to orders placed on or before April 10, 2026.
The units have 15 fabric drawers and metal frames, measuring 51.2 inches tall by 39.3 inches long and 11.8 inches wide and weighing 44.8 pounds. They come in white, brown and black finishes.
The agency has advised consumers to immediately stop using the units if they are not anchored to the wall and place them in an area children can’t access. To receive a full refund and instructions on how to identify and dispose of the dressers, consumers should contact EnHomee Direct at enhomeestore@gmail.com. They also need to submit a photo showing themselves disposing of the product.

The other recall involves 1,980 Kaifam five-drawer chests. Made in China, they were sold on Amazon.com from September 2023 through June 2026 for about $180.
The CPSC described the units as being made of metal and coming in white and black finishes. They measure 53.5 inches tall by 31.5 inches long and 15.7 inches deep and weighing 94.1 pounds. The SKU: N-YSXR0055B and “Item: Steel Cabinet” are printed on the product packaging.
The agency has advised consumers to stop using the units immediately if they are not anchored to the wall and move them to an area children can’t access.
To receive a full refund, consumers will be asked to write “RECALLED” on the top, front and sides of the units with a permanent market and remove all five drawers. Consumers also are being asked to email photos of the marked and disassembled dressers to KAIFAM_recall@outlook.com. Any questions can be addressed to the same email.
These and other similar recalls alert retailers to the importance of making sure that any clothing storage units they purchase for sale on their floor or website meet the requirements of the STURDY Act. To make sure their goods are compliant, they also should communicate directly with suppliers to see what they are doing to meet the federal standard.
Those who ignore the mandate risk having a product they sell involved in a tip-over that can injure or kill children and even adults, including seniors who also are prone to being hurt because of such incidents.
