by TAMPA, Fla. — Chad Spencer, the longtime chief executive of Ashley licensee Dufresne Spencer Group, has been named chief executive officer of Ashley Global Retail, the retail division of Ashley Furniture Industries.
Spencer spent 20 years at the helm of DSG, which was founded by his father, Jim Spencer, in 2002. The company said that under Chad’s leadership, “DSG swiftly rose to become Ashley’s largest licensee and earned the title of the fastest growing furniture retail company in the country.”
In his new position, Spencer reports to Todd Wanek, president and chief executive of Ashley Furniture Industries and the Ashley family of companies.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chad as our CEO of Ashley Global Retail, whose leadership will inspire growth, innovation and drive our retail business toward an exciting future filled with opportunities,” Wanek said. “With Chad’s extensive experience and visionary leadership, we believe he will be instrumental in guiding our retail business as it embarks on its next chapter of growth and innovation.”
Spencer said he is pleased to enter this next phase of his long and successful career with the company.
