Meridian Furniture to debut 80 lighting SKUs at Las Vegas Market

NEW YORK — As Meridian Furniture continues its evolution into a leading whole-home supplier, the fast-growing brand with a distinctly European contemporary aesthetic and an emphasis on high-style, affordably priced designs is set to unveil a major 80-SKU lighting collection at the Las Vegas Market this month.

Inside its entirely revamped showroom on the first floor of Building B (Showroom B-101), the exclusive, high-quality lamp collection will be characterized by natural materials including marble, acacia and mango woods, as well as woven rattan, all with a handcrafted artisan feel. As is typical of Meridian’s assortment in other product categories, many of the designs will be available in multiple colorways to suit the client’s or customer’s needs.

Mindy Marx, senior merchant and product development leader, described the collection’s design inspiration as “artisan soul with refined organic textures and a midcentury to contemporary style story. Stylistically speaking, the lamps work beautifully with all the products in Meridian’s other categories. That uniqueness is not an easy thing to find these days because so many vendors in the lighting category have been playing it safe with mainstream, me-too looks. We’ve designed this collection to bring personality back to the category.”

Encompassing tabletop and accent styles, as well as floor lamps, Marx added that the new collection offers “a designer look without the designer pricing.” Suggested retails range from $150 to $250, with a sculptural 59-inch natural rattan floor lamp priced at $600.

Also setting the lamp collection apart for retailers and designers is Meridian’s dedication to keeping products in stock and ready for fast delivery.

“Quick turnaround is key for both retailers and designers today, and they will appreciate the fact that they can ship the lamps with our furniture,” said Michael Rosilio, president of Meridian. “Our move into whole home makes it easy to order everything they need for a space from one responsive source who understands their needs.”

Additionally, the company is drawing on its roots as an e-commerce specialist to package the products extremely well to ensure all of the lamps arrive in pristine condition. “We package our lamps to ISTA-6 drop-ship standards,” Marx said, “This is important because it certifies whether product packaging can survive the harsh single-parcel delivery environment without being repackaged or needing extra boxing. This means our dealers don’t even have to open the box when it arrives, much less repack the lamp to ship to their customer. We know that’s long been a struggle for many retailers who want to sell online in addition to their brick-and-mortar stores, especially on the décor and accessories side.”

Among the standout lamp collection designs, Pietra, a shapely table lamp crafted of genuine travertine with a textured, natural, off-white linen shade, offers a refined contemporary presence. It is also available in gray marble with black shade, green marble with natural linen shade and white marble with jute shade.

Crafted in white marble paired with an off-white linen fabric shade, Vellum features clean sculptural lines and rich natural texture. It is also available in black marble with a black linen shade, and green marble with natural linen shade. Arcadia offers architectural flair crafted in travertine with a choice of either a brushed gold iron shade or matte black for warmth and contrast. The Lumaire accent lamp, available in either 12- or 16-inch heights, is an obelisk-shape covered in stretch fabric offered in either cream or taupe, and the Harvest Rattan Floor Lamp is a striking, sculptural piece available in both natural and brown.
