AHF Hall of Fame to celebrate individuals honored with bricks at Eternal Flame Courtyard

HIGH POINT — The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation will celebrate those newly honored in the Pathways of Honor surrounding the Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Industries Eternal Flame from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at 311 S. Hamilton St.

The Roll Call of 28 individuals and organizations placing engraved bricks will be acknowledged during a brief ceremony at 5:15 p.m. but the reverential event will last an hour to provide flexibility during busy Market schedules to stop to pay tribute as an “only at the Hall of Fame” moment.

“Honoring someone with a brick in the Pathways of Honor is the perfect way to permanently remember the person who made an impact on your life at the place where the industry gathers,” says Karen McNeill, CEO, and chairman of the Board of Directors. “There are so many memorable stories to tell. We see over and over, visitors who stop to talk about the people named on the bricks. It just can’t be explained until you experience it yourself.

“During Market, we gather for many reasons but at the Eternal Flame, the hustle and bustle stops. It is powerful and ever so important to give credit when credit is due, whether to a peer, mentor or family member,” McNeill adds. “We are better as an industry when we gather to honor others.”
