Industry veteran will oversee 3 home furnishings brands purchased by Green River Group in the past six months

HIGH POINT — Industry veteran Lee Boone has been named chief executive officer of HH2 Home, Vogue Home and Hawthorne Home, a newly created position.

In his new role, he will oversee all three brands, assets of which were purchased by Asia furniture manufacturer Green River Group in the past several months. They include:

+ Hawthorne Home, a supplier of electric fireplaces and vanities sold through DIY and big-box stores.

+ HH2 Home, formerly known as Hillsdale Furniture, which is sold through e-commerce channels, big-box and furniture stores, and Vogue Home, formerly known as Vogue Home Furnishings, produces stationary and motion upholstery sold through retail furniture stores.

Boone comes to the company from motion and stationary upholstery manufacturer Luxfort Home, where he was president for the past two and a half years. Before that, he was president and co-president of Hooker Furnishings division Home Meridian International and before that was president of Samuel Lawrence Furniture, a division of HMI.

Before that, he was president and general manager of Legacy Classic Furniture for about nine years and for two years prior was vice president of sales at youth furniture resource Lea Industries. Before this, he was vice president of national accounts at Universal Furniture for 12 years.

A graduate of West Point, he also served as a captain in the U.S. Army earlier in his career.

In his new role, he reports to Angela Hsu, executive vice president of Green River and president of Abbyson Home, the assets of which Green River also purchased in late August.

In a statement, Green River Group said that Boone “will work to create a winning culture, establish strong direction, operational excellence and inspire confidence in the companies’ workforces and customers.”

Boone said he pleased to join Angela Hsu and the Green River organization.

“Green River has long-held established manufacturing operations in South East Asia,” Boone said. “Now they have acquired these well-known furniture marketing brands with proven management teams, inspired product lines and an engaged customer base. It will be my job to lead the effort to create the vision, winning strategy and culture for these companies.”

He told Home News Now that he is going to focus on the customer-facing side of the businesses “to get the product lines right, to get the product categories right, the sales channels right, the selling organization right and the operations right. We are going to create a vision and create a strategy for success. We have some good building blocks to work with, some good people in place now, and we are going to pull it tougher and organize it to be successful going forward.”

Hsu said she is pleased that Boone has joined the company.

“We are delighted to welcome Lee to our family,” she said. “With his exceptional decadeslong experience, impressive track record of innovation and proven leadership skills, I’m confident Lee is the perfect person to lead our companies to the future growth and success we envision.”
