Jordan’s Furniture hires Peter Halunen as director, merchandising

EAST TAUNTON, Mass. — Retailer Jordan’s Furniture has hired industry veteran Peter Halunen as director of merchandising, a new position.

Halunen starts the new job Aug 5.

“In this role, Peter will help shape our merchandise strategy to drive sales, profitability and customer satisfaction,” said Scott Wantman, vice president merchandising, in a letter to vendors obtained by Home News Now. “He will work closely with our marketing and sales teams to ensure our product offerings align with customer needs and market trends.”

Halunen was most recently vice president of merchandising and product development at upholstery importer Royal Morris Living. Before that, he was president of sales and marketing for the North American market for DiGio and before that was vice president of strategic accounts at Natuzzi.

He also has previously held senior management-level positions at upholstery manufacturers Manwah, Kuka and Violino, as well as retailers Robb & Stucky and Baer’s Furniture.
