Klaussner names Walter Hammond executive VP, chief operating officer

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Klaussner Home Furnishings has hired Walter Hammond as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

He came to the company in late February from Endura Products where he worked for more than 18 years, most recently as vice president of manufacturing operations and director of manufacturing. He started with the company in 2005 as general manager, wood operations, a role he held for 14 and a half years.

Walter Hammond

Before that he was a plant manager for Bassett Furniture for seven years.

In his new position, he succeeds Zack Chehaitli, former executive vice president and chief operating officer, who left the company in late 2022. Hammond reports to David Cybulski, chief executive officer.

“We’re excited to have Walt join the Klaussner team,” Cybulski said. “Effectively scaling our production and sourcing capabilities will be critical to our ongoing success, and Walt will take the lead in doing that. Our retailer partners and consumers expect a high level of quality along with short lead times and on-time delivery, and Walt has the capabilities to help us excel in all three areas. Most importantly, Walt understands that the people at Klaussner are our most valuable asset, and through his outstanding leadership he will contribute to building upon our culture of success.”
