American Furniture Warehouse donates furniture, rugs to 30 former foster youth

Foothills Regional Housing (FRH), in partnership with CASA of Jefferson and Gilpin Counties (CASA), submitted a donation request to American Furniture Warehouse for the donation of 30 loveseats to be used towards fully furnishing the apartments for 30 former foster youth facing housing insecurity. AFW granted this request and added an additional 30 rugs.

These youth will be living at AVi at Olde Town in Arvada, CO which is FRH’s newest affordable housing development. FRH will provide each youth with a Project-Based Voucher to subsidize their rent so they do not pay more than 30% of their income. This is in conjunction with CASA’s Youth Alliance program which provides each youth with a one-on-one Coach to guide them in key areas of adulthood such as health, independent living, and education.

“We are proud to be able to help when we can in our communities and to help make these young adults’ new apartment a home,” said Jake Jabs, CEO of AFW.
