Legacy Classic Modern expands home office offerings

Company’s mix includes more pieces in collections, a new modular office program and more

HIGH POINT — Case goods resource Legacy Classic Modern has stepped up its presence in the home office category, adding pieces not only to full collections but also launching a comprehensive modular home office program called Union Square.

At the Oct. 22-26 High Point Market, the company is showing new writing and other types of desks in its three new collections, the casual traditional Kingston, the modern-influenced Terra Luna and the European traditional Orchard Park.

In addition to core bedroom, dining and occasional, each collection features a couple of home office pieces, including multiple desks and storage pieces such as bunching bookshelves, giving the retailer a broader office mix to choose from in its collections.

The company also is introducing Union Square, a modular office line with  five pieces including a lift-top writing desk, a corner desk, a credenza with two file drawers and open storage, an office end table storage unit and bunching bookshelf units. A lift-top writing desk starts at $399 retail and a bunching bookshelf unit with six shelves retails at $899.

This office group is part of Legacy Classic Modern’s Union Square modular home office collection. The bunching bookcase units can be seen in the background.

Pieces also are available in four finish options including Slate Gray, Ivory, Inkwell and Sable Gray. The company said that the goal is to offer these multiple footprints and finish options in a small amount of floor space to help maximize the return per square foot while also providing more functional pieces for work-at-home consumers.

“Our retail partners came to us looking for solutions in the growing home office category,” said Neill Robinson, president and CEO, adding that many consumers also are working at least part of the time from home as many companies offer flexible work schedules post-pandemic. “They told us there is not enough selection or functional solutions in office furniture currently.”

The company also is offering another standalone home office collection called Norwalk that has cottage-inspired design elements. Shown in an Aged White finish, pieces include an L-shaped desk and deck, a junior executive desk, a credenza and hutch and a lateral file cabinet.

In addition, the company is showing its nine-piece Sanibel occasional collection, available in two finishes and wood species, which doubles the SKU count within the collection.

These and other inline pieces in the company’s product line can be seen at its showroom at 2622 Uwharrie Road in High Point.
