by ECRU, Miss. — Ashley Furniture Industries has named industry veteran Travis Pound research and development manager, a role in which he will help lead the company’s product development efforts.
Pound comes to the company from Fusion Furniture where he was a plant manager based in New Albany, Mississippi. Before that he was a product development manager for sister company Southern Motion, based in Pontotoc, Mississippi.
Before joining Southern Motion, he was a team leader at Sutter Street Manufacturing, a subsidiary of home furnishings retailer Williams-Sonoma. Before that was involved in pattern design also at Sutter Street.
For about six and a half years prior, he was employed in pattern design at Ashley in Ecru, Mississippi and before that he was a pattern maker at Southern Motion for nearly four years. For nearly 15 years before that he was a pattern designer at Action-Lane.
