Description: The Director of Accounting & Controls is a senior leadership role at Ethan Allen, and the person in this role will be responsible for technical accounting research, internal controls compliance, calculating critical accounting estimates, preparing property tax returns, and assisting with the month-end financial close. They will carry out research on complex technical accounting matters to develop a fact-based conclusion to ensure compliance with authoritative accounting guidance, including drafting relevant technical accounting memos to support these conclusions.
The individual will also lead the company’s internal control compliance efforts and ensure appropriate controls are in place and regularly tested, including accurate and timely reconciliation of all key accounts. Additional responsibilities will include the preparation of key accruals, estimates, and account reconciliations while also performing ad-hoc special projects to further advance the Company’s accounting and finance functions.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive hands-on transactional accounting, and a CPA certification, is required. This person must also have at least 3 years of experience as a director or accounting manager leading accounting functions.
