SEOUL, South Korea – Bedding manufacturer Therapedic International has signed its latest licensing agreement with South Korean mattress maker SAB Co. Ltd., a partnership the company said will boost its capacity and reach in the region.
SAB Co. is located in the country’s most populous province of Gyeonggi-do, which includes the capital city of Seoul.
The six-year-old company is owned and operated by Mr. Kay Shin and Ms. Yuna Kim, two mattress industry veterans who started their careers in the industry 15 years ago selling beds and mattresses. They later supplied mattresses to CASAMIA, one of the largest Korean living companies.
Therapedic said that SAB Co. has been on a “strong and consistent growth trajectory,” and today produces more than 500 units per day, including innerspring, hybrid, foam and latex mattresses.
“It is well known that Therapedic International is thoughtful and thorough in selecting our licensee partners, and we are pleased to have the operational and marketing strengths of Mr. Kay Shin and Ms. Yuna Kim behind the quality of the Therapedic brand in South Korea,” said Therapedic President and CEO Gerry Borreggine.
With the SAB partnership, Therapedic’s licensing group, which already spans six continents, further solidifies the company’s strength in Asia, making it one of the most recognized bedding brands among consumers in a region where it has done business for the past 10 years.
