ALTOONA, Pa. — Levin Furniture & Mattress is opening its second Central Pennsylvania location here Wednesday, as it continues its aggressive growth post-Art Van ownership.
The 52,000-square-foot showroom, a former Wolf Furniture store, is located at 5 Sellers Drive, near the Altoona Grand Hotel. The Top 100 company will follow this week’s soft opening with a ribbon cutting and grand opening event Nov. 22 at 1 p.m.
Since reacquiring and reopening the 100-year-old business in July 2020 following Art Van Furniture’s bankruptcy, Chairman Robert Levin, along with John and Matt Schultz, Co-CEO’s, have opened 14 furniture and 9 mattress stores throughout northeast Ohio, southwest and Central Pennsylvania. The Altoona location marks the retailer’s 15th full-line furniture and mattress store including a handful of Ashley HomeStore locations. The retailer opened its first Central Pennsylvania location in State College back in June.
“We are looking forward to bringing the same quality products and attentive customer service that we’ve been known for by other western Pennsylvania communities for over a century,” Robert Levin said in a release.
Vendors and brands include Flexsteel, La-Z-Boy and Sealy, Tempur-Pedic, and Purple in mattresses, as well as private label collections
The retailer, with a history of supporting local communities in which it operates, will be donating $5,000 to Miracle League of Blair County, a nonprofit providing recreation through the sport of baseball for disabled children and youth.
