by HIGH POINT – Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP) is bringing Oktoberfest back to High Point Market, inviting industry friends to kick off market weekend with free food, drinks and games for a good cause on Friday, October 16, from 5-9p.m. The outdoor event will take place at 212 E. Russell Ave.
Following an enthusiastic response to last fall’s theme, PFP will once again transform its building and patio into an Oktoberfest-inspired gathering place, complete with German brats and pretzels, craft beer, festive décor and plenty of opportunities to connect with industry friends.
New this year, guests can put their aim to the test in the Bier Cup Challenge, PFP’s Oktoberfest spin on the classic cup-toss game. Multiple tables will keep the competition moving throughout the evening, with prizes available for winners. An Oktoberfest-themed photo area and props will give guests another way to get into the spirit and capture Market memories.
PFP’s “Hang On for Hope” challenge benefiting City of Hope will also return after a successful showing last fall. Marketgoers can test their endurance by hanging from a steel bar, with PFP donating $1 for every second they hold on. Last year, participants helped generate $10,000 for City of Hope through the challenge, with the longest hang reaching 2 minutes, 53 seconds. This year, PFP is challenging the industry to beat both marks.
“There’s real value in finding reasons to come together and share some joy,” said Tom Liddell, senior vice president of PFP. “That’s the spirit behind Oktoberfest. We want people to have a genuinely good time, while also channeling that positive energy into support for City of Hope and the patients and families who need it most.”
