by WASHINGTON — The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of more than 10,000 bedroom SKUs that it says could pose a danger to children and adults.
The larger of the two involves about 8,981 Dumos nine-drawer fabric dressers that pose a tip-over and entrapment hazard, particularly for children trying to reach something in one of the upper drawers or on the top surface.
While no incidents or injuries have been reported, the CPSC said the dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall. The CPSC said they also violate the mandatory safety standards as required by the STURDY Act.
Made in China, they were sold on Amazon.com from December 2025 through June 2026 for about $54. The CPSC described them as being sold in white, black, gray and brown finishes. They also have a metal frame that is about 13.4 inches wide, 47 inches long and 31.3 inches tall, and weigh 31.5 pounds.
Described as being able to support a television, they also have LED lights and built-in power outlets and ports with an attached electrical cable. They also are identified by SKUs – WMEDX-FC-TVK9CDC-RT, WMEDX-FC-TVK9CDC-GY, WMEDX-FC-TVK9CDC-BK or WMEDX-FC-TVK9CDC-WT, which can be found on a label attached to the product packaging.
Consumers have been advised to immediately stop using the recalled dressers if they are not anchored to the wall and to move them to an area that children can’t access.
For a full refund, consumers will be asked to destroy the units by cutting the drawers in half and writing the word “RECALLED” on the unit in a permanent marker. They should send a photo of this to dumosdresserrecall@dumos.com and then dispose of the product.

The second recall involves about 1,250 Merax Murphy beds sold online. The agency said that during assembly or disassembly, the frame of the wall bed can fall onto consumers, posing deadly impact, crush and laceration hazards.
The CPSC said the company has received two reports of the Murphy beds falling during assembly, when the Murphy beds were not anchored to the wall. This resulted in two injured consumers, including one who sustained bruising to his head, neck and right shoulder and another who sustained a hit to his head, and scrapes and bruises on his arms.
The units were sold on Amazon.com, HomeDepot.com, Wayfair.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, Overstock.com, Temu.com and other websites from May 2024 through February 2026 for between $900 and $1,100.
The CPSC said the recall involves full-size and twin-size Merax Murphy beds all sold in white with model numbers GX000392AAK, GX000391AAK or GX000383AAK. The beds are designed to be wall-mounted and can fold into a cabinet.
The agency said the same product also may have been sold by other marketplace sellers under different brand names such as Euroco, Harper & Bright Designs, Modern Luxe, Polibi, other brand names or without a brand name. The SKU code on all recalled products, regardless of brand name, is located on a sticker on the inside frame of the beds.
The CPSC has advised consumers to stop using the recalled units immediately and contact importer of record GigaCloud Technology for a free repair kit.
Consumers that have not assembled the Murphy bed will receive a repair kit consisting of unloaded piston springs, updated assembly instructions and inspection instructions. Consumers that have assembled the Murphy bed will receive inspection instructions.
If the consumer determines that the Murphy bed is assembled incorrectly, the agency said, GigaCloud Technology will provide the consumer with a professional installer to correct or complete the installation, at no cost to the consumer.
