BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. — Michigan-based retailer Gardner White is experiencing one of the biggest growth years in its 114-year history. Since the start of 2026, the family-owned company has opened 13 new stores across Michigan and Ohio, with three openings in August, which include the expansion of its Gardner White Mattress concept and the company’s first West Michigan location.
The August openings include Gardner White Mattress in Birmingham, Michigan, which recently opened; a Grand Rapids location that opened Aug. 6; and a new Novi, Michigan, store opening Aug. 20. The company’s 2026 openings also include locations in Chesterfield, Clintonton Township, East Tawas, Flint, Lansing, Portage, Traverse City, Washington Township and Woodhaven, Michigan, as well as Holland, Ohio. The retailer said the new locations are designed to bring its furniture, mattress and home decor offerings, along with complimentary design services, to more customers throughout the region.
Gardner White also recently relocated its corporate headquarters from Warren, Michigan, to Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. According to a news release from Gardner White, the new headquarters creates a collaborative space for the company’s growing team and showcases its continued investment in innovation and the future of retail. The company said it plans to expand the role of the space over time to create opportunities around design inspiration, innovation and community engagement.
The retailer also released a refreshed brand identity, including updated logos. According to the same release, the company’s new branding is more than just a new look; it is a visual expression of its heritage that symbolizes its commitment to inspiring retail experiences.

To celebrate its series of milestones, Gardner White will host a statewide grand-opening celebration that will take place at all 33 of its retail locations. All stores will offer special savings on furniture, mattresses and home decor, and select stores will host ice cream socials.
