Sensational Sofas & Interiors going out of business after

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Sensational Sofas & Interiors will close permanently after providing Memphis and surrounding communities with high-quality home furnishings for 37 years. The final sale for the family-owned company opens to the public January 16.

Roger and Sandy Phillips and their daughter, Alexandra Quinn, have dedicated their lives to Sensational Sofas & Interiors for more than three decades. The family has partnered with leading furniture promotional sales specialists Planned Furniture Promotions (PFP) to handle the going-out-of-business sale events.

“I’ve known Roger and his family for decades, and their integrity, work ethic, and care for customers are what made Sensational Sofas & Interiors such a respected name,” said Tom Liddell, senior vice president of PFP. “We’re proud to support the Phillips family as they bring to a close a business that has meant so much to the community.”

Sensational Sofas & Interiors was founded in 1989. Ten years later, Roger and Sandy Phillips bought the company with a vision for creating a store that offered custom, high-end furniture and attentive customer service. Opening its doors originally in Germantown’s upscale Carrefour shopping center, the retailer earned a loyal following by offering customers the ability to personalize nearly every detail of their furniture from fabric selections and cushion comfort to size and style.

In 2007, the Phillips’ daughter, Alexandra Quinn, joined the business, helping guide the company into its next chapter while preserving its service-first philosophy. During this time, Sensational Sofas & Interiors expanded its offerings to include interior design services and ready-to-deliver showroom pieces, eventually relocating to a larger space on Ridgeway Road to better serve its growing customer base. The store’s commitment to craftsmanship and personalized service was consistently recognized by the community, earning it the “Memphis Most” Favorite Furniture Store award from The Commercial Appeal for seven consecutive years.

Sensational Sofas & Interiors now enters its final chapter as Quinn plans to step away from the retail business and focus on her family.

The 21,000-square-foot store is for lease and interested parties may contact LPI Memphis at (901) 761-3333. For more information on the final sale, visit www.sensationalsofas.com.
