ARCADIA, Wisc. – Ashley’s Angels, an all-volunteer non-profit organization, set out to make the holiday season brighter for children who need it most with annual gift deliveries around the country. This year, with the help of generous donations and community support, Ashley’s Angels raised over $204,000 to support 861 children from 291 local families surrounding Ashley facilities in Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Florida and Wisconsin.
Each year, members of the Ashley’s Angels committees work alongside counselors from local school districts to select recipients. Then in the late fall, with the help of incredible volunteers, clothing, food, essential items and special gifts are purchased for each child using their wish lists during shopping days. Once all children are shopped for, the gifts are delivered by committee members just in time for the holiday season. The impact of these gifts is more than just smiles and warm hearts; they help to provide security, build confidence and create a magical moment for children who need it most.
“Ashley’s Angels has shown me the true meaning of community and compassion,” said Angela Newby, board member, Ashley’s Angels of Mississippi. “Being involved in this organization means being part of something bigger than yourself. When you see a child light up because they’re getting clothes they need, or when you witness the joy a family feels knowing their children will have gifts under the tree, that’s when you realize the real impact we’re making. I’m proud to be part of something that began right here in Mississippi and continues to change lives today.”
Ashley’s Angels was established in 1997 by an Ashley truck driver from Mississippi after he heard about a girl who was living in a car with her mother. The Ashley driver recruited help from fellow drivers to provide food, clothing, and additional assistance by helping the family find proper housing before Christmas. Seeing the impact their efforts had made on this family’s life encouraged those involved to form Ashley’s Angels.
Throughout 2025, Ashley’s Angels hosted a variety of fundraisers including a bass tournament, car show, bingo, Topgolf tournaments, bake sale, raffles and more. The funds raised also included over $35,000 contributed directly by Ashley employees through the Dollar a Week program. To all those who supported fundraising events, volunteered their time or donated, Ashley’s Angels extends a heartfelt thank you. Your generosity makes it possible for the organization to continue bringing hope and joy to children and families in need.
