For those who are new to the category, occasional tables include cocktail tables (yes, cocktail — not coffee — is the proper term as is sofa versus couch), end tables, sofa (not couch) tables, TV consoles etc. …
This latest market had many new introductions as manufacturers have now gone full steam ahead, releasing new products and trying to capture more market share with new looks.
My goal was to cover a vast assortment of styles and shapes. Here are some highlights in the category that I saw.
The sleek and low-rise Origen cocktail table from Adriana Hoyos features a neat triple color story with the top, bezel and
base. The bezel is offered in 14 wood finish options as well as two other stone species, including marble and granite options!
Check out the new Facet cocktail from Woodbridge Furniture. It has a nice mix of different geometric angles with triangular legs with a faux tortoise finish and optional brass leg bottoms. Fun, fun, fun …
A fun new concept from HH2, the Soren cocktail table has a hidden twin-sized sleeper mattress inside. It’s also a lift top, with storage underneath and featuring stainless-steel hardware. A super practical and genius new creation!
This is the Reveal cocktail and corresponding end table from BDI Furniture. The cocktail has a lift top for functionality with storage underneath done in BDI’s signature Chocolate Walnut with a satin-etched, tempered glass on top. Color options also include charcoal or natural stain. Very sleek and modern.
The striking Cosmo cocktail table by Universal Furniture features a Fool’s Gold metallic surface with a brassy gold and silvery charcoal combination finish. It has a cool modern motif with its dual-height surface and round shape.
The modern Shaw occasional table set is an eclectic new group from A | R | T, featuring weathered bronze metal top with a banded bezel and plank legs. Very transitional and quite the conversation piece.
Check out this gorgeous Summit ash burl cocktail table in a barrel shape from Gabby Furniture. The 48-inch table is shown in a nice Dusk stain with Dark Emperor natural marble with great veining. A fabulous traditional piece.
And here is the awesome new Amorphus cocktail table paired with a companion side table from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. We could classify this as modern and bold in its organic shape and inset (reflective) glass top. Available in bronze (as shown), red or white. Impressive!

The “4242” coffee table by Canadel features an offset partially channeled/slatted lower deck with a glass top. It is shown in solid walnut with 20 color options, two stain options and either glass or wood top. Great quality!
This beautiful Brindle hexagonal-shaped cocktail by Jennifer Farrell x Global Views features a stunning sauvaged hair on hide with the perfect height and about a 48-inch size. It works perfectly with the side chair and rug in this silhouette. Great work, Jennifer!
The Kindred rectangular cocktail table by Rowe Furniture has fluted sides and an offset bottom opening that offer visual intrigue and texture. It is shown in a darker Godiva finish to anchor a classic living room and is also available in a lighter contrasting Sesame finish. So pretty!
