David Snipes joins American Woodcrafters as VP, business development

Exec brings nearly 40 years of experience in wood furniture and wood products to his new role in the industry

HIGH POINT — Industry veteran David Snipes has joined case goods resource American Woodcrafters as vice president of business development, a new position.

David Snipes

He brings 37 years of experience in the wood products and wood furniture industry to the company, dating back to his time in sales at David R. Webb veneer and lumber.

Reporting to CEO Chuck Foster, he comes to this new position from Magnussen Home, where he was vice president of product development. Before this, he was vice president of merchandising at Samuel Lawrence Furniture and was previously vice president of sales and mass accounts at Klaussner Furniture.

Earlier in his career, he handled sales for furniture sourcing company Furnco and before this handled sales at Snipes Forest Products/Vanhout.

He was involved in sales at David R. Webb for nearly 10 years, from August 1988 to May 1998.

Foster said the new position aims to support the sales team “with additional presence in the marketplace. We also need some product development expertise and that is where David is going to help us,” Foster told Home News Now.

Foster added that in addition to developing and implementing business development strategies aligned with overall company goals, Snipes will be instrumental in team leadership as well as partnership development involving identifying, building, and maintaining strategic relationships with partners, clients, and other key stakeholders.

He also will help spearhead revenue generation, “leading efforts to increase revenue through new business opportunities, sales initiatives, and market expansion” while also “analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.”
