PICO RIVERA, Calif. — Full-line furniture manufacturer Michael Amini / AICO (Amini Innovation Corp.) recently hosted a blood drive at its corporate offices in Pico Rivera, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to supporting cancer patients through blood transfusions.
For nearly two decades, AICO has partnered with City of Hope to help meet the organization’s staggering annual demand of 37,000 units of blood. In 2009, the Michael Amini Transfusion Medicine Center was established – this LEED-certified facility is one of the largest hospital-based donor centers in the country.
“The battle against cancer doesn’t end with the transfusion center,” said Michael Amini, Founder and CEO of AICO. “Blood donations are necessary to continue the fight against cancer.”
“Every donation counts,” states David Koehler, President of AICO. “Just one pint of blood can have an outsized impact—saving one life touches families and entire communities.”
Beyond blood drives, AICO supports multiple charitable initiatives and fundraising events for City of Hope, providing employees with opportunities to contribute in ways that best suit them.
“We encourage all our staff to partner with City of Hope in ways they are most comfortable with—it makes a difference and
brings us together in the best possible way,” Koehler added.
These fundraising and solidarity events raise funds and increase awareness for City of Hope’s initiatives and research.
