Primo introductions include delivery-friendly sectional, sleeper

HIGH POINT — Primo International, the Canadian-based whole-home importer, was here at market with a host of new introductions, including the Roll N Go collection of upholstered goods from Sealy.

The assortment of upholstered groups includes a compressed-foam, 112-inch sectional-sofa with matching ottoman that can ship in four boxes.

The groups, available in different configurations, carry suggested retails ranging from $499 to $999, according to John DeFalco, Primo’s senior executive vice president of sales and marketing.

“We soft-launched the concept at the October market and based on the overwhelming positive response from our dealers, we added more items at the January Vegas market and now at this market, we showed a total of six groups,” he said.

Other “big news” from Primo is the introduction here of a king-sized sofa-sleeper from Stearns & Foster. The 101-inch frame is set to retail for $2,999 and features detachable arms and back, making it delivery-friendly even to small urban apartments.

The company said that research shows that most urban apartments in metro areas such as New York City, Detroit, Chicago and similar areas contain only one bedroom.

“So, in addition to being extremely fashionable and comfortable, this sofa also provides the solution for small-space dwellers who want to accommodate overnight guests,” DeFalco said.

The sofa also boasts European mechanisms that free the user from having to remove the cushions in order to use the sofa as a bed.

“And with Stearns & Foster being such a legacy brand, consumers have a high degree of confidence and familiarity with this proven brand, “ DeFalco added.
