Bassett Mirror imposes average 5.5% price increase on certain China-made products

Tariff-related adjustment goes into effect March 24

BASSETT, Va. — Furniture and lighting resource Bassett Mirror is imposing an average 5.5% price increase on certain China-made products because of an additional 10% tariff the Trump administration has placed on China effective earlier this month.

While the company said it has worked with its manufacturing partners to maintain pricing on most of its China-made products, it will impose the average 5.5% increase on others. The price hike takes effect March 24.

In a letter obtained by Home News Now dated Feb. 24, President and CEO Melissa Whitaker said that the company will maintain current pricing on all orders received before March 24.

“This gives you the opportunity to plan ahead and secure inventory at the existing rates,” Whitaker said.

The company also is running a “Beat the Tariff’ promotion that applies to its entire product line and will be available on all in-stock products through March 15.

“We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to stock up before the price increase takes effect,” Whitaker said.

“We truly appreciate your business and the trust you place in us,” she added. “Our commitment to providing you with high-quality products and exceptional service remains our top priority. … Thank you for your continued partnership. We look forward to a successful 2025 together.”
